Record predictions for every NBA team
Sacramento Kings (Projected Record: 30-52)
The Kings just have way too many players projected to be below average to bad that should play major minutes to be expected to do much of anything. They upgraded their roster by acquiring George Hill this offseason, but they are a team full of very young players and a few well past their prime veterans in Zach Randolph and Vince Carter.
It’s a bit of a broken record, but young players tend to be less impactful to winning than players in their prime and the Kings just employ so many young guys trying to find their way in the league. Buddy Hield’s plus-minus numbers were very poor last year, and as such, his projections for this season are below replacement, while he projects to play heavy minutes.
Skal Labissiere showed some promise last year and figures to be a rotational big man this season, which is encouraging for a player as young as he is.
DeAaron Fox doesn’t figure to have a significant impact on the Kings’ win total, as a rookie, but he projects very well going forward and he has already begun blessing Kings fans with nightly highlights as he races past defenders in transition. Bogdan Bogdanvic figures to be a solid player in his first year in the league, as he was one of the best players in Europe before joining the Kings this year.
