Record predictions for every NBA team
San Antonio Spurs (Projected Record: 51-31)
Another year, another 50-win season for the Spurs. It’s like clockwork. Even with Kawhi Leonard sidelined for somewhat significant time, the Spurs look like they will find a way, one more time. LaMarcus Aldridge looks like about a league average player, as he further descends from his peak. Pau Gasol’s RPM expectations are greater than my eye test ever allows me to believe in him, but the numbers are what they are. Danny Green figures to ride his ultimate 3-and-D excellence to another very good season from an impact perspective.
Manu Ginobili doesn’t look likely to play a ton of minutes, but when he does, he’s still expected to play like a top 40 player in the league. The Spurs just have all of the depth and, as they have many times before, figure to ride that depth to a win total that will be the envy of many, many teams in the league.
Beyond all that, Kawhi will again be one of the best five players in the league when he’s able to play and that goes a very long way to piling up wins, even in the meat grinder that is the Western Conference.
