FanDuel NFL 2017: Week 9 lineup
Wide Receivers: DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans-$9,100, Jarvis Landry-Miami Dolphins-$7,000, Marvin Jones, Detroit Lions-$6,000
The Texans have one of the league’s best offenses right now, and (shocker) all Hopkins needed was a capable quarterback. He has posted more than 20 FanDuel points in three of his last four games, with at least 11 targets five times in seven games.
In Week 9 Hopkins gets the Indianapolis Colts, who have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points (ESPN PPR scoring) and tied for the fifth-most receptions (95) to the position. A blowout win and an abandonment of the passing game is possible, but Hopkins is still worth ponying up for on FanDuel this week
The Dolphins offense has been highly inept thus far, but Landry has 47 targets over the last four games and Jay Cutler is expected to be back for Week 9 against the Oakland Raiders. Oakland is in the middle of the pack against wide receivers, but they’ve allowed three touchdowns and 16.3 yards per catch to the position over their last two games. In two Eastern time zone road games this year, they’ve allowed an average of 30.85 PPR points per game to wide receivers.
Landry, as he is in any setting, is a volume-based fantasy play in Week 9. But that volume puts him in position to deliver value as a DFS play.
Over his last two games, Jones has been targeted 25 times with 12 catches for 224 yards. Golden Tate’s return last week did not affect him, and now the Green Bay Packers are on the slate this week.
The Packers are bottom-10 in the league against wide receivers, and they’ve had multiple wide receivers top 50 yards against them in five of seven games. Also, receivers with double-digit targets against them have averaged 97 yards per game.
Jones has a good matchup, he’s on a positive trend and he’s a very good value on FanDuel. There aren’t many no-brainers, but Jones feels like one this week.
