Georgia Bulldogs (9-0)

Last week: W 24-10 vs. South Carolina
Last rank: 1

Another week, another win for the Georgia Bulldogs, who had the honor of playing as the No. 1 ranked team in the first College Football Playoff rankings. The Bulldogs will have a bullseye on their back the rest of the season, but it did not seem to bother them on Saturday. They were very business-like in their win against the South Carolina Gamecocks, and if they can win out, a huge SEC title game matchup against the Alabama Crimson Tide should be in their future.

The Gamecocks decided to make freshman quarterback Jake Fromm throw in this game, as the Georgia offense really runs through their star running backs. While Nick Chubb and Sony Michel both had nice showings in this one, it was Fromm’s ability to make big throws that led Georgia to the win. Fromm finished with nearly 200 yards passing and two touchdowns, as the Bulldogs rolled 24-10.

Chubb rushed for over 100 yards in the game, and Michel scored a touchdown on the ground. The defense was able to get to the South Carolina Gamecocks for two sacks and picked off Jake Bentley twice. They have won nine straight games to start the season for the first time in 35 years, and with a cushy schedule the rest of the way, they should be undefeated heading into the SEC title game.

Georgia not only clinched their division on Saturday, but that means they have already earned their spot in the SEC Championship Game. They should not rest on that, however, as they have an Auburn Tigers team up next that looked very good against Texas A&M this weekend. Saturday was a nice win, as the Gamecocks came in as winners of three straight, as this Bulldogs team proved they are for real once again.
