DraftKings NFL 2017: Week 9 Lineup
By Joe Romano
High Value Wide Receivers
T.Y. Hilton – Indianapolis Colts ($4,900) – It is odd to see an elite wide receiver in the value section of these articles. Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton could be classified as an elite wide receiver considering he led the league in receiving yards a year ago. With inconsistent quarterback play, he’s struggled this season. Still he is top ten in receiving yards again. One thing Hilton is good at is exploiting weaker competition. His best game of the season came against the San Francisco 49ers. This week the Colts play a Houston Texans secondary that was just torched by the Seahawks. Hilton against that defense could be in for his best game of the season. He’s struggled in recent weeks but quarterback Jacoby Brissett looks competent enough that I’d be confident plugging Hilton into my lineup. At that low of a price point, it almost seems like a steal.

Cooper Kupp – Los Angeles Rams ($4,500) – The Los Angeles Rams signed Robert Woods to a big deal this offseason and then traded for Sammy Watkins. Even with those two on board, the most receiving touchdowns on the team are from rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp. The slot receiver is averaging six targets per game for the now competent Rams offense. The Rams head across country to play the struggling Giants on Sunday. New York has a trio of corners that looked elite a year ago. They have struggled in 2017. The Giants rank tenth in points allowed to opposing receivers over the past four weeks at 23 per game. Watkins and Woods may be the bigger names but Kupp has shown himself to be quarterback Jared Goff’s favorite target in the red zone. The shift slot receiver would be the play for me if I’m looking for a value wide receiver, but all three Rams wide receivers are worth a look.
Terrence Williams – Dallas Cowboys ($3,300) – One theme of this season is that the wide receiver lined up away from Marcus Peters will find success against the Kansas City Chiefs. This week that will likely be Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver Terrence Williams. Without Ezekiel Elliott I expect the Cowboys to throw the ball a bit more on a susceptible Chiefs’ secondary. Williams is the clear fourth pass-catching option on this team. Dez Bryant, and Jason Witten are ahead of him in targets and he is tied with Cole Beasley. Prescott seems to lack the rapport with Williams he has with the rest, especially Beasley. With Beasley in the concussion protocol and his status unclear, Williams gets the nod as a value play. Williams is a streaky player but this could be one of those games where he shows up in a big way. He’s a touchdown dependent play but I see him getting into the end zone here in a game that could become a shoot out early.
