Malik Jefferson

OLB, Texas

By Week 11 of the season, many players on this list are going to be bringing the same performances week in and week out. That’s not uncommon, as consistency tends to be a key trait of many top prospects.

Everyone knows what they can do at the college level at this point and it’s all a matter of just seeing if they can keep bringing great outing after great outing each and every week. That’s been Malik Jefferson this season.

As mentioned before, wrapping up with his big hits and bringing that consistency was his big thing this year. His motor has always been there, but becoming a more efficient player has been something that has elevated him.

The Texas defense has had some strong performances in losses this season and Jefferson had another good one this past week. He finished in the loss to Kansas State with 10 tackles and another consistent effort.

Baker Mayfield

QB, Oklahoma

Bedlam lived up to the very definition of its name on Saturday. The Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys engaged in one of the wildest offensive showdowns in the history of college football and the rivalry.

The Sooners came away with the 62-52 victory, as both teams seemingly kept scoring at will all afternoon into the night. Baker Mayfield had himself a stat stuffing day in the victory over the Cowboys.

The quarterback accounted for 6 total touchdowns, five of which were passing. While he did throw a couple of picks, he had 24 completions go for an incredible 598 yards. A lot of that is in part to the speed of his receivers but it was an outstanding day.

His Heisman chances are certainly alive and having games like this can help his chances. If he can bring it like this against TCU this week, then he’ll help his team’s playoff chances too. Right now he’s an incredibly intriguing draft prospect.
