De'Anthony Melton

G, USC

Melton’s statistical profile in his first season at USC lies in lock step with Dwyane Wade’s best season at Marquette. He may look to fans as a backcourt Draymond Green, the type of do-it-all guy on both offense and defense who holds contending teams together. He will benefit from the success USC will have as a team just as much as he propels that success himself.

The thing you’ll hear about Melton throughout the early part of the season — until he has the chance to reverse the trend — is that he shot 28 percent from three last year. But thanks to the continuity USC will have under coach Andy Enfield and the incoming talent around Melton, the Trojans might be one of college basketball’s upstart teams this year.

That will gave Melton every chance to blossom into the type of all-everything guy that NBA teams have coveted since Green entered the league and changed the way NBA teams think about versatility and development.
