15. Washington State Cougars

Checking in one spot ahead of the Huskies is rival Washington State, which battled hard with Utah in a 33-25 win at Rice-Eccles. Luke Falk tossed three touchdown passes, while the Cougars forced three turnovers behind a dominant showing from Hercules Mata’afa up front. Washington State controls its own Pac-12 North destiny, with the Apple Cup looming large in two weeks.

14. UCF Knights

The Knights continued their dominating campaign with a 49-21 drubbing of Connecticut on Saturday. UCF has the top scoring offense in the land behind sophomore quarterback McKenzie Milton, who piled up another 350 yards and three scores. UCF has only played one single-digit game this season and is well-deserving of a top 15 spot.

13. Oklahoma State Cowboys

After last week’s disappointing Bedlam result, Oklahoma State enjoyed a strong bounce-back performance with a 49-42 win at Iowa State to remain in the Big 12 hunt at 8-2. Mason Rudolph tossed three touchdown passes, including a pair in the second quarter to help erase an eight-point Iowa State lead. A.J. Green sealed the win with an interception in the end zone on a simultaneous possession play that Cyclones fans won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

12. Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State snapped its two-game slide by topping Rutgers, 35-6, although James Franklin won’t be thrilled with a sloppy first half. Saquon Barkley had two touchdowns to back an efficient Trace McSorley performance, while Penn State’s defense surrendered just 200 total yards. The Nittany Lions almost certainly won’t win the Big Ten East but will get to 10 wins barring a major upset in the final two weeks.

11. TCU Horned Frogs

The Horned Frogs fall out of the top 10 after being beaten soundly by Oklahoma, 38-20, for their second loss of the season. TCU’s defense, which had been playing so well in recent weeks, surrendered all 38 points in the first half, and a limited passing offense was unable to catch up. The Horned Frogs still control their own championship game destiny and should get another crack at the Sooners in three weeks.
