Wisconsin Badgers

Yes, the Wisconsin Badgers are still very much alive. As long as they remain undefeated they can’t be ignored by the College Football Playoff committee. Their resume isn’t as strong as other teams, but their record is perfect.

If they get to the end of the year with a perfect record, then it’s going to be near impossible to keep them out of the playoff picture. What they need is the Alabama Crimson Tide to take out the two SEC teams that stand in their way.

The Crimson Tide knocking off Auburn and defeating Georgia in the conference title game would effectively eliminate them. Wisconsin would then need one of the two ACC teams or Oklahoma to fall and their path in would be much clearer.

Now, the real test for Wisconsin here is defeating Michigan this week and then winning the Big Ten Conference Championship Game. The Wolverines are not going to be an easy challenge by any stretch and this is a must-win situation.

If they can get past the Wolverines at home, then they’ll have to survive Minnesota on the road. They have a perfect record to their name, but a three-week test that’s about to make or break their playoff chances.
