Ric Flair makes surprise appearance on WWE SmackDown Live after Charlotte’s title win

Charlotte became the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion on Tuesday night, and that brought about a surprise appearance from her father, Ric Flair.

Tuesday night on WWE SmackDown Live, the card for this Sunday’s Survivor Series show received yet another shakeup. That’s because we have a new SmackDown Women’s Champion. After a back-and-forth battle, Charlotte Flair defeated Natalya to become the champion of the brand for the first time in her career. With the win, she will now go on to Survivor Series to take on WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss.

Now, you would think that just the title win alone would be the best moment of the night. Well, that was far from the case.

After her win on Tuesday night, Charlotte gave an inspirational speech where she mentioned her father, the legendary Ric Flair. She noted how he couldn’t be there to see the title win, but she was sure he was at home watching like he does every Tuesday, and she would surely receive a text message congratulating her when she got to the back.

As she was making her way up the ramp with her new title, though, she and all of us watching got one hell of a surprise. That surprise was an appearance on the stage from Ric, creating one of the best moments in wrestling this year.

Given everything that’s gone on with the Nature Boy’s health recently, it was truly a joy to see him out there in front of everyone celebrating with his daughter. Just a few months ago, his life was truly in jeopardy. Tuesday night, though, he was strutting his stuff out there with his daughter as she celebrated yet another moment in her amazing career.

Professional wrestling gives us some amazing moments at times. It really does.
