2018 NFL Mock Draft: New York Jets and Giants draft a QB
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears made the move to Mitchell Trubisky a couple of weeks back, and he has shown that he could be a franchise quarterback down the road. While he has looked good in spots, it has been a bit of a roller coaster, and that is mostly because he has no weapons in the passing game. Not only did Cameron Meredith and Kevin White see their season end early, but star tight end Zach Miller is also done for the year, leaving the Bears shorthanded on offense.
With that being said, the Bears should look to add to the wide receiver group next April, and James Washington from Oklahoma State should be the first wideout off the board. Washington has become an absolute star playing for the Cowboys, and would be a nice fit in the Bears offense. He has the ability to go deep, and with Trubisky’s strong arm, that is the kind of player they need to add to the unit.
Chicago made a big investment trading up one spot to take Trubisky last year, and they are going to do everything they can to make sure he succeeds. Meredith is going to be a great player once again when he comes back, and adding a weapon like Washington alongside of him is only going to make him better. Chicago has a solid defense, and a stud running back, so bolstering the passing attack has to be the play heading into next season.
