2018 NFL Mock Draft: New York Jets and Giants draft a QB
By Brad Weiss
The New York Giants are just plain bad this season, and it has really been one of the bigger surprises in the NFL in 2017. Last year, the team went out and spent a ton of money on their defense, but those players look disinterested in getting better each week. To make matters worse, it looks like second-year head coach Ben McAdoo has lost the locker room, which can only lead to the organization blowing things up this upcoming offseason.
When it comes time to draft, it is likely the Giants will look for a replacement for Eli Manning, as he is definitely up there in age. The 37-year old Manning has taken a pounding this season, and without an adequate offensive line, this offense has been even worse than a year ago. They need to find their next franchise quarterback, and although they spent a third round pick on Davis Webb last April, he is not the option.
Josh Rosen from UCLA came back from a concussion in a big way this past Saturday, throwing for nearly 400 yards against Arizona State. He has the ability to fit the ball in tight windows, and he is likely to make himself eligible for the draft this offseason. Rosen is going to be a high pick if he decides to come out, and some have him at No. 1, but we like the Giants to grab him at No. 3 if they are in fact picking this early in round one.
