2018 NFL Mock Draft: New York Jets and Giants draft a QB
By Brad Weiss
It has been rough going for the Cincinnati Bengals this season, and on Sunday, they added some embarrassment to their poor record. Star linebacker Vontaze Burfict was ejected for contact with an official, and proceeded to flip off the Tennessee Titans faithful. Head coach Marvin Lewis has run his course at the helm of the Bengals, and the team is certain to move on from him this offseason.
As they enter a new era of Bengals football, they need to make sure they get their first draft pick right. When it comes to defensive backs, Minkah Fitzpatrick from Alabama is the best in the class, especially at the cornerback position. Fitzpatrick would slide into the top corner role with the Bengals, and enable Adam Jones to finally retire.
This is going to be a blowup and build offseason for the Bengals, who still have a ton of talent on their roster. It is clear that the team is not listening to Lewis anymore, and making a move in a new direction may be the change they need. Bringing in Fitzpatrick would instantly upgrade their secondary, and they certainly need some help in that area on that side of the ball.
