Mike McGlinchey

Offensive Tackle, Notre Dame

The Los Angeles Chargers found another way to lose this past Sunday, and it is clear that they are headed for another year out of the playoffs. This team has so much talent on both sides of the ball, but it has to be frustrating for Chargers fans to always see them lose at the last second. Quarterback Philip Rivers took a pounding against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday, and may miss this week after checking himself into concussion protocol.

When it comes to Rivers, he is definitely getting up there in age, but he looks to have a lot of good football left in him. With their first pick next April, Los Angeles should look to bring in a legitimate left tackle for him, and Mike McGlinchey of Notre Dame is the best in this draft class. McGlinchey would give the Chargers the left tackle they have never had with Rivers at quarterback, and make this team even more dangerous moving forward.

With Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram on defense, this Chargers team is one of the best at getting after the quarterback. The problem with this team is that they cannot win the close games, and even when they have a lead, they seem to squander it. Bringing in a solid left tackle is going to enable them to do so many different things on offense, and maybe give them the opportunity to get to leads that they actually cannot blow.
