Wide receivers to trade away

Primary Target – DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans

The absurdly talented DeAndre Hopkins is a prime trade away candidate and became that why the second rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson tore his ACL. It’s beyond terrifying to put a fate of a fantasy team in the hands of backup quarterback Tom Savage. Even with Hopkins having two very productive games with Savage so far, he’s really done nothing at the NFL level to show he could be average. Hopkins is going to be peppered with targets but this is an instance where volume just isn’t enough to justify trusting Hopkins in a lineup.

The biggest reason why it’s time to move Hopkins is his playoff schedule. He does get a nice matchup in Week 14 against San Francisco. Then the schedule takes a brutal shift as he plays at Jacksonville and against Pittsburgh. Those are two of the best defenses in the league and Savage is likely to struggle mightily in those games.  There has to be some type of faith in Hopkins when he’s needed most and there’s no reason to have it in those two games.

Secondary Targets

T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis Colts – Hilton is just such a roller coaster that he’s hard to trust for any given week. While his boom weeks have been a little easy to predict due to the matchup, the flip side is he’s been an easy fade in a bad matchup. His remaining schedule includes Jacksonville, Denver, and Baltimore. It will be tough to get full value for him but Hilton is enough of a name to bring a solid return.

A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals – Yet another big name that has good odds to not live up to it towards the end of the season. The Bengals have had a rough year on offense and A.J. Green is no exception. He’s only had three games of 100 yards and a touchdown so far. It’s a fantastic time to move him coming off a huge game in Tennessee. The Bengals still have to go to Denver, to Minnesota, and face Pittsburgh and Chicago. Even though the Detroit game looks positive, cornerback Darius Slay is vastly underrated.
