Best NFL games of Week 11: Goff, Keenum meet in NFC showdown
By Joe Schiller
3. Washington Redskins at New Orleans Saints
Every game is crucial at this point in the season and the Redskins need a win in Week 11. The NFC East is pretty much out of reach with the dominance of the Eagles and a Wild Card spot is the last option. They face arguably their toughest test of the season on the road at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome against the Saints.
For the Saints, it’s been more than just the passing game that’s brought them success this season. Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara are leading the third-ranked rushing attack in the NFL. The Bills learned that the hard way last week when they gave up over 300+ yards on the ground. All of the load has been taken off of Drew Brees and he’s still dominant when called upon. Michael Thomas continues to improve in his second-year and is a matchup problem for just about any cornerback he comes across.
The Redskins are a better team than their 4-5 record shows but inconsistencies have been a problem. They’re a borderline playoff team but the defense has to step up. Giving up 38 points to the Vikings isn’t the key to success and that could get even worse coming up against a dangerously balanced Saints offense.
All signs point to a win for the Saints at home. If they win their eighth straight, is it time to finally put them into the same conversation as the Eagles? I think we might just have to.
