NFL Draft 2018: Updated ranking of the top 32 draft prospects entering Week 12
The Alabama Crimson Tide gets their fair share of work each week. The Mississippi State Bulldogs ran the ball 49 times in what turned out to be the toughest test of the season thus far for the top team in the nation.
Again, the defensive line didn’t allow them to do much as they gave up only an average of 3.5 yards per carry, which is pretty remarkable considering the amount of times that the Bulldogs tried to run it.
Da’Ron Payne was stout with six tackles and continues to be an immense force in the middle for the Crimson Tide. We’ve seen numerous monsters come from this line and he’s just the next one to emerge.
The Tide will have an easy game this week against Mercer, but a huge test next week against Auburn. It’s that time of the year where the Crimson Tide start to really dig in and play their best football.
Christian Kirk put all of his talents on display for the Texas A&M Aggies this past week. Needing a win, the Aggies beat down New Mexico and put up 55 points in an offensive explosion that they have been lacking.
Kirk was a monster in the receiving and return game. He showed off his ability to stretch the field with 120 yards on just four catches, including a touchdown. That’s an average of 30 yards per reception.
Not only did he dominate catching the ball, he did so as well returning the ball. He’s a major threat anytime the ball is punted to him. His one return went for 90 yards and a touchdown, as he found his way to the end zone.
His production won’t look as great as some of the others this year, but that’s not his fault. He’s been having to overcome a poor passing attack all season while trying to prove he’s worthy of a top selection.
