NFL Draft 2018: Updated ranking of the top 32 draft prospects entering Week 12
In what was an absolute stunner, Mike McGlinchey and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish got pushed around. They fell out of their spot in the top four in the College Football Playoff rankings and let Miami have their way with them.
It was an uncharacteristic performance for the program and seemingly nothing went right. McGlinchey struggled and got beat, and his teammates had to suffer an agonizing defeat to their rivals.
While it was a terrible night for the offensive tackle prospect and his team, he’s still one of the top tackles heading into this draft class. One bad performance isn’t going to erase his stock by any means at all.
The professionalism he carries himself with will make him an important leader at the next level. One would be wise to assume he’ll learn from this past game and it will make him better for it in the long run.
What a day for Bryce Love and the Stanford Cardinal. Back on the field and healthy, Love carried the program to their biggest win of the season over the Washington Huskies. With a chance to still win their division and conference, this was the win they needed.
Love was the catalyst in the win on offense. He was fed a whopping 30 carries on the evening and rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns. If it wasn’t for injuries this year and Stanford playing a lot of late games, Love would be right there at the top of the Heisman discussion.
The good news is he should be near the top of the NFL Draft discussion. He’s dynamic and is someone that can get the ball as much as his team needs him too. The key for Stanford is pounding the football and they did just that.
Now, they can focus on trying to win out and potentially make a major bowl game if they can get a little help along the way. Nonetheless, Love is moving his way up the draft board as draft season approaches.
