Danny Woodhead

RB, Ravens

Ownership %: ESPN: 47%; Yahoo!: 43% | Role: Potential weekly RB2/flex

I first mentioned Woodhead as a stash three weeks ago, and then again last week. This week? It’s judgement day.

Consider this your last warning: add Danny Woodhead now, while he’s still available in over 50 percent of leagues across the board. If he’s healthy, he will offer you flex production in standard scoring and solid RB2 production in half- and  full-PPR leagues.

First, a friendly reminder about how Woodhead started this season before being injured. He had one carry for four yards and three receptions for 33 yards on the Ravens’ first drive of the 2017 season. Not the first game, or the first half, or the first quarter. The first series.

Secondly, since 2012, for every year that he’s been healthy, Woodhead has averaged 65 receptions per season, topping out at 80 receptions for 755 yards and six touchdowns with the Chargers in 2015. On top of that, he’s averaged 4.3 yards per rushing attempt, which isn’t exactly elite, but isn’t trash either.

If you have championship aspirations, making a move to put Woodhead on your bench now could be the move that wins you a title. Don’t let someone else grab him after his first 10-catch game with Joe Flacco, who most definitely will lean on Woodhead as his primary check-down option. Be proactive!
