Winner: Wisconsin Badgers (Stayed at No. 5)

No, the Wisconsin Badgers didn’t move in the poll, but the fact that they took care of task No. 1 in their three-part series to make the playoff was impressive. Their next two tasks will be winning the season finale and then beating Ohio State in the Big Ten title game to remain undefeated at 13-0 to earn a playoff bid.

Michigan, then No. 19 in the AP Poll, came to town in Week 12 and Wisconsin needed a signature win to add to its resume. While the Wolverines aren’t at the same level as let’s say Penn State, Ohio State or even Michigan State this year, the Badgers could still use another victory over a ranked opponent.

For the second straight week, the Badgers took care of business and downed the Wolverines 24-10 to improve to 11-0 on the year. It wasn’t exactly a dominating victory, but hey, a win’s a win.

Paul Chryst has to feel good about how his team played in the second half, especially with Alex Hornibrook making the go-ahead touchdown pass which turned out to be the game-winner. Jonathan Taylor also had a big day running the ball and the Badgers will hang on to that No. 5 spot and the committee will likely make a positive note next to their name.
