Starting your day —

This might not be the best game of the week, but that’s the point. When you start your Thanksgiving day, it’s about counting down until you get to eat. It’s a primer as you check on the food, or fantasize about how many steps you’ll need to take to burn all the calories. It’s a fun stretch of anticipation and relaxation.

The Raptors and Knicks are playing good basketball right now. They’re 8-3 and 7-4, respectively in their last 11 games and both are doing things we never expected. Over those 11 games, both teams are third and seventh in offensive efficiency, respectively.

The Raptors are shooting 3-pointers, even if their best offensive player isn’t, and the Knicks have finally allowed the original unicorn to blossom. Kristaps Porzingis is playing so well this season, he’s actually giving Phil Jackson some credibility for wanting to trade Carmelo Anthony and picking Frank Ntilikina over Malik Monk and Dennis Smith Jr.

Toronto beat New York last week, but this game is at Madison Square Garden. This could still be the most fun game of the week. What a way to start Thanksgiving!
