Denver Broncos (+5) at Oakland Raiders

In what should have been a signature game of the week, instead we have a certain cross-off game in the AFC West between the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders. Denver has lost six straight and Oakland is one of the worst coached teams in football in recent years. How is this not a 10-win team?

Though the game is in the Bay Area, I’m taking the Broncos getting five points. Not saying that Denver will upset the Raiders, but the Broncos very well could. Oakland isn’t winning this rivalry game by more than a field goal anyway.

This is a revenge game for both teams in some capacity. For the Raiders, they lost on the road in Week 4 to Denver in a game where quarterback Derek Carr broke a bone in his back. As for the Broncos, recently promoted offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave will get to call plays against the team he used to work for last season.

Oakland’s decision to fire Musgrave and promote quarterbacks coach Todd Downing to offensive coordinator has been subject to great ridicule in Raider Nation. This will be Denver’s last stand. Otherwise, the Broncos will be 3-8. Oakland probably wins by a field goal, but take the Broncos getting five points. It will be an ugly, albeit exciting game.
