2018 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns select Josh Rosen No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears have been playing competitive football this season, even if their current record has them picking towards the top of the first round. Rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has shown he can keep the Bears in games, and he is doing it without most of his weapons in the passing game. Not only have the Bears lost Cameron Meredith and Kevin White at wide receiver, but start tight end Zach Miller nearly lost his leg in the team’s loss to New Orleans a few weeks back.
Still, the Bears have been led by not only two solid running backs in Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen, but a defense that has been much better than advertised this season. When it comes time to draft in April, the Bears should look to bring in more talent on defense, especially across the defensive line. Bradley Chubb from North Carolina State is an explosive talent on the edge, and would be a nice fit in the Windy City.
Chubb has one of the better first steps in college football, and has incredible strength and speed. He would be a dominant figure along the Bears defensive line, and in the NFC North, you have to be able to put the pressure on guys like Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers. Chubb has the talent to come in and start right away, and for the next few years, this team has got to keep the ball on the ground and play good defense.
