2018 NFL Mock Draft: Cleveland Browns select Josh Rosen No. 1
By Brad Weiss
The New York Jets are coming off their bye this weekend, and will take on the Carolina Pathers in Week 12 action. The Panthers are once again one of the better teams in the NFC, so it may be another rough game for the Jets on Sunday. Prior to their bye week, the Jets actually had a chance to firmly plant themselves in the AFC Playoff race, but lost a pretty terrible game on the road to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Entering the 2018 offseason, there are few bigger holes on this roster than at the quarterback position. Veteran Josh McCown has done a nice job this season holding down the fort, as youngsters like Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg never took control of the job. The Jets actually spent a second round pick on Hackenberg, and as more time goes on, the more it is clear that it was an incredible waste of a draft pick.
In April, the Jets need to draft a quarterback, and while they are pick No. 8 to date, they may be selecting even earlier by the time draft day comes. With that pick, New York should draft Mason Rudolph if he is available to them, as he has the talent to be a good one at the next level. Rudolph is one of the more mature college quarterbacks in the country, and has the right personality to be able to handle the roughest media group in all of professional football.
