Atletico Madrid need a win to stay alive in the Champions League. They have only managed to earn three points after four matches in Group C, leaving them in third place and a long shot to advance. In addition to a win, they need Qarabag to beat Chelsea in the other match. After a hard fought 0-0 draw against Real Madrid at the weekend, Atletico may not have the spirit in them to fight against Roma. If there’s any time to pull out all the stops, it’s now, with their backs against the wall.

On the other hand, Roma have been quite impressive so far this season. They sit fourth in Serie A, only five points off the leaders Napoli. They are also on top of Group C with eight points, ahead of Chelsea and Atletico. With a victory, Roma could clinch entry into the knockout stages of the competition. They are in control of their own destiny and have only a tired, beaten up Atletico Madrid squad standing in their way. Expect the Italian side to field a strong lineup en route to cruising to a victory and knockout stage qualification.
