No. 5: Georgia

Miami and Alabama’s respective downfall became Georgia’s gain, who barely remain on the outside looking in. Saturday’s SEC Championship Game against Auburn will decide who’s in the College Football Playoff, so the odds are fair for the Bulldogs to reach the grandest stage of the postseason. However, the Tigers just crushed them weeks ago, ending a perfect season. Will it be more of the same?

No. 4: Auburn

Auburn could become the first two-loss team to make the College Football Playoff. Saturday’s win over Alabama made that realistic, with one of the season’s biggest upsets. Even though it was a No. 1 vs. No. 6 game, rarely anyone takes down the Crimson Tide in the regular season, which makes the Tigers’ win feel special. Now, if they can defeat Georgia for the second time, then their championship aspirations will remain intact.

No. 3: Wisconsin

With Alabama and Miami’s losses, Wisconsin’s spot in the playoff looks better than ever. No one will give them credit, as it’s not a marquee name like Ohio State or Penn State from the Big Ten. However, at 12-0 and a secured spot in the Big Ten Championship Game, this team deserves respect on its name and a spot in the top four. Although a loss vs. the Buckeyes will destroy this.

No. 2: Oklahoma

A midseason loss to Iowa State thwarted Oklahoma’s postseason hopes. However, a strong finish to the season leaves them near the top of the College Football Rankings, with a spot, likely, in the playoff. That depends on what happens in the Big 12 Championship Game, with a rematch vs. TCU on the schedule. Can the Sooners close the season and earn their spot?

No. 1: Clemson

This isn’t the 2016 Clemson Tigers. Far from it, actually. There’s no Deshaun Watson at quarterback, and yet, this team will be No. 1 after Week 13. A spot seems likely for the College Football Playoff, but depends on the not-so-easy ACC Championship Game against Miami. This will be one of a handful of games that essentially become an early playoff matchup. Will Dabo Swinney’s team make it?
