Winner: Clemson Tigers (No. 4 up to No. 1)

Speaking of those Clemson Tigers, they have moved up in the polls thanks to losses from Miami and Alabama. The Tigers are in prime position to snag a playoff spot once again, heading back to the annual four-team title bracket for the third time and looking for a third straight trip to the championship game — Alabama may not be there this time, though.

After losing Deshaun Watson and a plethora of talent from the 2016 national title team, Clemson came into the 2017 season with high expectations, but not necessarily as favorites to win it all yet again.

They would be going to a new starting quarterback and filling Watson’s shoes wouldn’t be easy. Kelly Bryant has done an incredible job, though. He capped off an impressive regular season with a blowout win over South Carolina on the road in which he passed for 272 yards and two touchdowns.

Clemson will now be matched up with the recently-upset Miami Hurricanes in the ACC title game and whoever wins that one will presumably make the playoff.
