9. Case Keenum

It still feels like Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is itching to replace Case Keenum with Teddy Bridgewater, but it doesn’t look like Keenum is going to give him an excuse to do so. Keenum has been one of the surprise stories of the 2017 NFL season, and he seems to be getting better and better as the year moves along. The former Houston standout has been efficient and reliable for a team that needs him to do little else to win football games, and he’s also performing pretty well in the fantasy department.

Keenum has posted at least 17 points in four straight games (ESPN standard scoring), dropping 27.3 points on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving day. It seems it’s time to really start taking Keenum seriously as a fantasy starter. He’s got a nice stable of weapons at his disposal in Minnesota, headlined by fellow breakout player Adam Thielen. It’s clear that Keenum and Thielen have excellent chemistry, as the wideout is now among the league leaders in receiving yards.

Stefon Diggs remains an excellent deep threat, and he’d be the top receiver on a good number of teams around the NFL. Tight end Kyle Rudolph gets the job done when called upon in the passing game, and running back Jerrick McKinnon is a good pass-catcher out of the backfield. Latavius Murray has also been providing solid support in the ground game, keeping defenses from keying in on the aerial attack. Keenum still isn’t the kind of player that you feel comfortable with as your only quarterback, but he’s in the conversation as the starter for a lot of fantasy teams at this point.
