Fantasy football: Top 10 waiver wire Week 13 pickups

7. Corey Coleman
The impending return of Josh Gordon (hint, hint) should impact Corey Coleman’s value, though it’s difficult to anticipate just how it will do so. Basic logic would point to Coleman’s target share taking a hit with Gordon back on the field, as the veteran wideout once led the league in receiving yards for a season and will immediately be the top receiving option in Cleveland. However, Gordon may draw his fair share of attention from opposing defenses, which could open things up for Coleman.
Coleman hauled in three balls on Sunday for a total of 64 yards, which is a rather mediocre fantasy day. However, he once again saw a good deal of targets (8) and displayed his impressive physical traits. The Cleveland offense is not a good one, plain and simple, and quarterback DeShone Kizer has been an absolute mess for the most part. It’s becoming clear that head coach Hue Jackson is not the quarterback whisperer that he was billed as when the Browns brought him to Cleveland. One has to wonder what the failed A.J. McCarron trade would have done for Coleman’s value, but the ineptitude of the organization once again reared its ugly head there.
Coleman should see his targets decrease with Gordon back in the fold, but he should find an easier time getting open as well. This may mean more big play opportunities for a player that has legitimate deep-threat speed. This role could also make him somewhat of a boom or bust weekly fantasy option, in the mold of a DeSean Jackson-type, which is not what you want to be relying on during the fantasy playoffs. However, he’s still worth an add in most leagues.
