Paige, Mandy and Sonya leave their mark

The biggest news out of the women’s division last week was the return of Paige and subsequent arrivals of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. The trio brutalized Bayley, Mickie James, Sasha Banks and RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. The attack on the first three led to a scheduled match between the two trios on Monday night.

Or so we thought. As it turned out, Paige, Rose and Deville attacked Mickie and Bayley before the match, leaving them incapacitated. Sasha was the only one out in the ring and saw her friends groaning in pain. The group, now referred to as “Absolution,” gave The Boss a chance to join. Banks, however, refused the opportunity. But, she paid dearly for that. She landed on the receiving end of another 3-on-1 beatdown.

Bliss, on commentary, slithered her way out before the attack went down, though.

Paige, Rose and Deville weren’t through yet. The trio returned to ringside later on in the show after Asuka’s quick win over Dana Brooke. The Empress of Tomorrow stared them down and left without an attack. Considering her terrifying presence, it appears that, for now, Paige and her new allies know their place.

Conceptually, everything about all this was quite good, and we can expect more in the weeks that follow. The women’s division is going through a much-needed shakeup. Perhaps this is exactly what it needs.
