2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen, Sam Darnold lead way
By Brad Weiss
The Denver Broncos made the move to Paxton Lynch under center this past Sunday, hanging the keys to the franchise to their 2016 first round pick. Instead of him taking over, he had to leave the game with an injury, and Trevor Siemian was inserted back into the starting lineup. Siemian proceeded to lead the Broncos to two fourth quarter touchdowns, bringing them to within a score, and locking up the starting job once again.
Lynch is gone for 2-4 weeks, and that likely means his run as the answer in Denver is coming to an end. The Broncos may decide to trade up to get a Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold, but if they stay at No. 5, they should look to add some depth to the offensive line. The team drafted a tackle in the first round in 2017, and they should go the same route if they are picking this high in 2018.
Mike McGlinchey is a dominant offensive tackle prospect, and would give the Broncos a solid bookend at the position. Garett Bolles was selected by Denver in the first round last year, and has played on the left side this season, but he could slide over to the right side if the team drafts McGlinchey. Having both Bolles and McGlinchey would solidify the tackle position for at least the next five years.
