You think LeBron James taking his talents to Philadelphia seems far-fetched? You should re-think that.

LeBron James is the king of Cleveland, but his royalness could take his talents to the Philadelphia 76ers the minute the free agent clock strikes midnight this summer.

If you’re a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, then you may think that him leaving for the up-and-coming Sixers is preposterous. “Why would he come back home just to jilt us, again?” Cavs fans are asking themselves.

Ever since he helped get Cleveland its first championship, he has been rumored to be taking his talents to just about every NBA city. The latest one made light by USA Today’s Jeff Zillgitt has King James may be looking at heading to the City of Brotherly Love this summer.

"If James, who can become a free agent after this season, decides to leave the Cavaliers, he could – and should – consider the 76ers, and executives around the league believe Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo will attempt to sign James."

It’s not a forgone secret anymore the “The Process” in Philadelphia is starting to pay dividends. Ben Simmons, the Sixers prized rookie, is looking like the obvious Rookie of the Year winner. He and Joel Embid have teamed up to be the second coming of “Kareem and Magic,” and the supporting cast around them have fitted nicely into Philadelphia’s puzzle of returning to glory.

To make things even more intriguing, the Sixers will be one of the few teams this coming offseason flushed with cash to spend on a big name free agent. That, added to a team that already set to be a playoff contender, and you have the making of the team pitching its case to LeBron for jilting Cleveland, yet again, and coming to Philly.

You think James wouldn’t be interested? Well, as a play on the old Nike campaign with Bo Jackson, “You don’t know King James.” His window of bringing Cleveland another title is closing fast, and if he has a desire to add to his championship trophy case, Philadelphia may present the best situation for him.

Don’t discount this rumor.
