DraftKings NFL 2017: Week 13 Lineup
By Joe Romano
High Value Running Backs
Dion Lewis – New England Patriots ($5500) – Normally fantasy players are wise to stay away from the New England Patriots backfield. However these last few weeks we’ve seen one player take hold as the top option in New England. Dion Lewis has seen the majority of work at running back for the AFC’s top team. Lewis over the last four weeks is the 12th-leading rusher and top-20 in points despite losing a touchdown to Rex Burkhead. The Patriots go up against a Buffalo Bills defense that has been torched by running backs two of the last three weeks. Lewis should get plenty of opportunity to not only run the ball but catch some passes. Despite being DraftKings 14th-priced running back he could finish much higher while saving you some money to possibly pair with his quarterback Tom Brady.
Alex Collins – Baltimore Ravens ($4500) – The Baltimore Ravens, despite having a high-priced quarterback, are winning with defense and their running game. That running game, the last four weeks, has centered around Alex Collins. Since Week 5 he has yet to see less than ten rushing attempts in a game. The Ravens play a Detroit Lions defense that has allowed the second-most rushing touchdowns in the league this season. That defense ranks fourth in points allowed to opposing running backs over the last four weeks. Keep an eye on Collins’ status prior to the game as he sat out Wednesday’s practice with a calf injury but it sounds more precautionary than serious.
Kenyan Drake – Miami Dolphins ($4900) – One of the biggest components of fantasy football is opportunity. Since the trade that sent Jay Ajayi to the Eagles the Miami Dolphins have been splitting opportunities between two backs, Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake. With Williams likely out this week, Drake will get the opportunity to prove himself. That is good news for fantasy players as Drake is only the 19th-highest-priced running back on DraftKings. The Dolphins play a Denver Broncos defense that looks like a shell of the once powerful defense that carried Denver. Over the last four weeks they’ve allowed five rushing touchdowns, and four receiving touchdowns to opposing running backs. That is good for second-worst in the league over that span. Drake is a great option despite the Dolphins poor offensive performances in the past.
