Georgia Bulldogs: Roquan Smith

Roquan Smith is one of many high-caliber players on the Georgia defense. Make no mistake, though: Even with Devin Bellamy and Lorenzo Carter, Smith might be the best defender of them all. And he’s also one of the best defensive players in the SEC and the country, too.

The Bednarik Award finalist had an absolutely outstanding 2017 season. Smith led the team in tackles (113) and finished fourth in the SEC in that department. He also racked up six sacks and three PD along with a forced fumble. He had double-digit run stuffs and was one of the surest tacklers in the entire country.

Smith is one of the best linebackers in a linebacker corp that has been monstrous all season. He and Natrez Patrick have been forceful up the middle, cleaning up with Trenton Thompson and John Atkins doing work on the line. You will likely see Smith be out in front trying to stop Baker Mayfield, Rodney Anderson and the rest of the OU offense.

If you’re unfamiliar with the type of work that Smith can do, you best familiarize. Not only should he make a huge impact in the CFB Playoff but if he leaves school, chances are he’ll be one of the top picks in next year’s NFL Draft.
