Ranking the non-playoff New Year’s Six games by watchability
3. Fiesta Bowl
Why You Should Watch: Because Saquon Barkley is here. The dynamic running back is always a treat to watch, and will be a threat to score the ball any time he gets it. He runs kickoffs, he runs on offense and is a pass-catcher too. Penn State’s offense, otherwise, is pretty great too. You’ll likely hear about him next year in the NFL Draft. This is the last time you’ll probably get to watch him play college ball. He’s worth the watch, folks. Trace McSorley and Mike Gesicki are too talented to miss out on, too.
And hey, don’t overlook Washington, either. The Huskies have a dangerous return man in Dante Pettis. Pettis scored four times on punt returns this year and has been consistently great at doing so in his UW career. Jake Browning is a fun watch when he’s slinging it, and the Huskies have a defense that can matchup well with Penn State.
Why It’s Ranked Here: Washington has unfairly fallen under the microscope this year, thanks to the Pac-12’s baffling schedule. But you should pay attention to Pettis, Browning and Myles Gaskin. Penn State’s dynamic offense has grabbed many a headline and for good reason, too. The two matchups ahead of them seem a little more intriguing to the naked eye. But, it’s close though. And being 3rd place here could easily be interchangeable with our next choice.
