24. Rick Barry — Golden State Warriors

On the 23rd day of the month perhaps the greatest player of all time was represented in LeBron James. Now, on Christmas Eve the NBA jersey advent calendar finally reveals what may be the greatest basketball jersey ever.

Actually, it is the greatest basketball jersey ever designed.

More than that, it might be the greatest uniform in all of sports history.

Just look at it. Everything about it is absolutely beautiful and perfect.

The colors are a bright shade of yellow contrasted perfectly by the Warriors royal blue. The only white on the jersey is a small strip in the center of the trim around the neck and arms. The jersey pops and stands out immediately when seen.

The bridge logo with player number encircled on the front performs double duty as both a creative way to display the jersey number and a way to sneak in a local landmark into the design.

Any alternate text outside of the standard team nickname or city should be celebrated but this is the king of them all.

“The City.”

The jersey just has the words “The City” arched across the chest. That’s such a baller move.

What city?

Don’t even act like you don’t know what city.

It’s amazing, and it’s perfect.

This jersey also showcases the only back-side feature of our calendar worth mentioning in the excellent trolley-car box which contains the jersey number. Another city-specific detail that really separates the best designs in sports from the average, ho-hum looks that could be any old team from any old town.

This isn’t any old town. This is The City.

Oh, and Rick Barry was pretty great at basketball too.

Honorable Mentions: No other jerseys were even remotely considered for this spot.
