Carson Wentz injury: Twitter explodes in rage

The Philadelphia Eagles, their fans, and all NFL fans are holding their breath while waiting for news on Carson Wentz. Some took to Twitter in anguish.

If Carson Wentz i seriously hurt, you can add his name to the list of players on Injured Reserve that would make the NFL First-Team All-Pro squad blush. Wentz, who left in the third quarter of a shootout against the Los Angeles Rams, has been ruled out by the Eagles with a knee injury.

Upon that news and the quickness of it, panic has ensued. Philadelphia is 10-2 and could be the NFC’s top seed in the playoffs come January, but now everything seems meaningless. With all due respect to Nick Foles, nobody is worried about him making a Super Bowl run in the loaded NFC, even if the Eagles somehow procure a bye week.

On Twitter, the reactions ranged from sadness to bouts of unconquerable rage. We were here for all of it.

It’s hard to blame anybody for having such a reaction to Wentz potentially going down with a  serious knee injury. The second-year pro out of North Dakota State has thrust himself into the MVP conversation with 32 touchdown passes on the campaign.

The Eagles have to hope that Wentz is only out a few weeks and can return for the playoffs. With him under center, Philadelphia would be able to go on the road and provide a challenge to anybody. Without him, the Eagles are sunk regardless of venue.
