High Salary PG

John Wall, WAS at BKN ($8,200): As of this writing, Wall is listed as questionable. He went through practice on Monday, but there won’t be an update on his status until Tuesday’s afternoon practice at the earliest and a decision might not be made until shootaround prior to the game. If he plays, he’s coming back to a good situation. The Nets are ranked 26th against point guards in their last 15 games and are 20th in overall defense. Wall’s minutes will likely be monitored and there’s no telling how he’ll play coming off a knee injury. He had 53.75 fantasy points the last time he was on the court and we all know he can put up big numbers. He’s just a risk due to playing time and post-injury concerns. **

Lonzo Ball, LAL at NY ($6,600): Lonzo has missed value in three out of his last four. He’s hit value in 52 percent of games this year, but has a dud rating in 24 percent. It’s fruitless to hope for a big scoring night from the rookie point guard, but he’s reliable in the assist department and can pick up rebounds. The Knicks are 22nd against the position in their last 15 games, which might be enough to entice you. Like Wall, he’s a risky play. I think he’s riskier than Wall just because you know what you’re getting from Wall if he’s at full strength. You rarely know what you’re getting from Lonzo. **

Dennis Schroder, ATL at CLE ($7,600): The good news concerning Schroder is that he’s averaging 39.9 fantasy points in two games against the Cavaliers this season. That includes a 36.5 fantasy point game against Cleveland on Nov. 30, after Cleveland turned things around. The bad news is that he was benched at the end of the Knicks game and that’s potentially a troubling disconnect between him and his coach He can score in a hurry, but he needs rebounds and assists to really hit value. If you think the message got through to him, you’ll like him at value or better. If you think it soured things, then you may want to stay away. I believe it’s the former. ***
