Harold Landry

Edge, Boston College

The Carolina Panthers made it all the way to the Super Bowl two years ago, falling to the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos. Last season, the Panthers took a serious step in the wrong direction, and in the process, Cam Newton was injured. Newton has had to work his way back to full strength this season, but he has his Panthers back in first place in the NFC South, and they have the talent to make a serious run in 2017.

Newton has been solid all season long, and the additions they made via the draft last year have worked out perfectly. When it comes time to draft in 2018, they should look to bring in a player like Harold Landry, who is built from the same mold as Julius Peppers. Peppers returned to Carolina for another run this past offseason, and Landry could be a player he can pass the torch to.

Landry could certainly go earlier in round one, as he was a potential first round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. He decided to return to school to work on a few things in his game, and is a better play for it. In the NFC South, you need to be able to get after the quarterback, and when it comes to this draft class, there are few better players at doing just that than the big fella from Boston College.
