Broncos at Colts: Preview, prediction, odds and pick
By John Buhler
The Indianapolis Colts will host the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football in Week 15. Here is a game preview, the betting odds and a final score pick.
Week 15 of the 2017 NFL season is upon. The first game on the slate this week will be against two dead horses in the AFC in the Denver Broncos (4-9) and the Indianapolis Colts (3-10). This is not the Peyton Manning bowl we would have wanted to see at the start of the year, but here we are.
Thursday Night Football will kickoff from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Dec. 14 at 8:25 p.m. ET. NBC, the NFL Network and Amazon Prime will all carry the game. Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth will be in the booth to call this AFC football game.
Denver enters play at 4-9 on the year and in fourth place in the AFC West. Though the Broncos ended their eight-game slide last week versus the New York Jets at home, Denver has been officially eliminated from playoff contention in the AFC. Quarterback troubles and inconsistently in pass defense ultimately sank the Broncos. That and horrendous coaching.
Indianapolis enters play at 3-10 on the year and in fourth place in the AFC South. Though they took the Buffalo Bills to overtime, the Colts lost their 10th game of the season in the winter wonderland that is New Era Field in Orchard Park. Like Denver, the Colts have been eliminated from playoff contention in the AFC. No Andrew Luck or many serviceable NFL players were what ultimately sank the Colts. Former general manager Ryan Grigson did the exact opposite of building a championship football team in Indianapolis.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Denver -2.5
Moneylines: Denver -140, Indianapolis +130
Over/Under: 40.5
According to OddsShark, the Colts will be getting 2.5 points at home from the visiting Broncos. The associated moneylines for this game are Denver -140 and Indianapolis +130. This game’s over/under comes in at a combined 40.5 points.
Even though this game will be in a dome, points will be at a premium in this contest. Do you trust the Broncos offense to get in the end zone thrice in this game? Exactly, so take the under, as we won’t get 40 points in this primetime ball game.
Though both teams are certainly picking in the top-10 of the 2018 NFL Draft, it will be a close, albeit ugly game in Indianapolis. Both reams will score a defensive touchdown. Though it won’t be in the snow, Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri will have a pair of awesome field goals to help get the Colts to 4-10.

The Colts not only cover the 2.5-point spread at home, but they almost beat the Broncos at home by a touchdown. Jacoby Brissett will outplay Trevor Siemian or whoever Vance Joseph trots out there to quarterback the Broncos. Yee-haw!
Pick: Colts 20, Broncos 14
