10 WWE storylines in 2017 that made wrestling better

7. The New Day vs. The Usos
Simply put, The New Day and The Usos had one of the best tag team feuds in WWE in quite a while. Cesaro and Sheamus taking on Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose has been close but the edge here has to go with the boys from the blue brand.
After breaking Demolition’s long-standing record, The New Day looked a little lost there for a while. They didn’t even have a match at WrestleMania, instead taking the job as the hosts, and The Usos were also a little stuck as SmackDown Live was trying to figure out where to take the tag division after last year’s surprise success of Heath Slater and Rhyno. Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt held the belts as part of their program and before Jason Jordan got thrown into his ridiculous storyline as Kurt Angle’s son, he and Chad Gable held them for a short time but American Alpha never really took off on the main roster.
The Usos were finally able to win the titles in March and when The New Day came to Tuesday nights as part of the Superstar Shakeup, the two teams were bound to meet up. Their first title match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view was ruined by a countout finish when The Usos just walked away but their match at Battleground more than made up for it as they were able to put on the match that we knew these two teams could have as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were able to win the titles back for The New Day.
The two teams met up again at SummerSlam and even though they were relegated to the pre-show (which was a travesty), they put on a match better than anything on the main show, outside of the Fatal 4-Way main event match for the WWE Universal Championship, and The Usos regained the titles. Wanting to keep things fresh, the automatic rematch was booked for an episode of SmackDown Live and the two teams put on an amazing Sin City Street Fight in Las Vegas as The New Day took back the titles.
With the automatic rematch clause again in place, the two teams met in the first-ever Hell in a Cell match for the tag titles and put on yet another classic to open the show. With Kofi Kingston on the outside, Jimmy and Jey were able to outlast Big E and Woods to once again become champions and it capped off an amazing rivalry that lasted for months. A lot of programs that last that long can become stale and boring but with great promo work and great matches, The New Day and The Usos kept things fresh and entertaining throughout.
