14. Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl

Boca Raton, Fla., is a nice place for retirement as well as an annual bowl game. The Boca Raton Bowl is only heading into its fourth year, and citizens of the area are hoping for a better matchup in 2017 between Akron and FAU.

For Florida Atlantic, also known as the Fighting Lane Kiffins, making the Boca Raton Bowl has its advantages. For one, the Owls will be playing in their home city. And secondly, Florida Atlantic doesn’t even have to travel off campus to play its bowl game against the Zips.

Unfortunately, the Owls’ stellar season will be capped off by one of the worst named bowls in recent memory. The sponsor of this year’s bowl in Boca Raton is Cheribundi Tart Cherry which is a beverage company based in New York. Nothing like a company from the opposite end of the East Coast taking over the name of a bowl game and making it sound ridiculous.

Apparently, the Boca Raton Bowl wasn’t generating enough money and needed a sponsor but it could have been a little more selective with its name. I’m sure this year’s game will draw more viewers and a larger attendance with it being at FAU’s home field, but fans will have to buy ‘Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl’ champs shirts at the conclusion. Yuck.
