6. DeAndrew Hopkins is something else

To put it simply, DeAndre Hopkins is incredible. As his team continues to struggle week in and week out, Hopkins continues to make plays. He had this impressive 25-yard grab from T.J. Yates in the third quarter that kept the Texans from getting shut out against the Jaguars today. Even the best passing defense couldn’t do anything against one of the league’s top receivers.

Hopkins inked a five-year, $81 million contract this offseason that made him the NFL’s highest-paid receiver. There’s no doubt that he’s playing like that this season. He now has 12 touchdowns this season and is the bonified star on a terrible team. Just think about how good he’ll be when Deshaun Watson is back next season. Opposing quarterbacks will continue to fear Hopkins for a very long time.

5. Sterling Shepard to the house

Credit to the Giants. They could’ve folded today but came out and gave the Eagles one of their toughest games of the season. They took an early 20-7 lead in the second quarter capped off by a 67-yard touchdown catch by second-year receiver Sterling Shepard. With Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall out, he’s become the No. 1 receiver and looked like that on this play.

It wasn’t even a great pass by Eli Manning but Shepard did all the work. He avoided two Eagles defenders down the sidelines and had wide open grass for the touchdown. The Giants have to be happy with his progression even with all of their struggles this season.
