Dear Bears Fans,

We just want to make sure we’re all on the same page. We showed you a glimpse of what we can become earlier this season. How many teams do you know that can win a game with a quarterback who completes four passes? All three of our wins came against likely playoff teams. There is hope for the future.

But we could not compromise our rebuild for a decent season this year. That’s why we had to lose to the 49ers. We tried losing to the Bengals, but man, they might be the worst team in Ohio. We don’t want to make our tanking too obvious, but I must admit, we are torn on whether or not we should lose to Cleveland.

We did not anticipate the Giants, Colts, and Broncos to play as poor as they have. We were expecting a top-3 pick, finishing better than only the Browns and 49ers. Due to certain teams playing worse than expected, we’ve had to find creative ways to lose. Did I mention that we won a game with our quarterback completing only four passes?

We’re on the right track. We have the pieces in place to be a competitive team, possibly as early as next year. We just need another year to develop Mitchell Trubisky and another strong draft. We just want you to recognize what we’re doing and for you to trust our process.

That’s what all the kids are saying, right?

Top gift choice: Trust
Second choice: Prayers for the Broncos, Colts, and Giants to win a couple more games this season.

Signed, the Chicago Bears organization
