Speaking of impressive running backs, is Todd Gurley now the leader in the
clubhouse for league MVP honors?

Carson Wentz is now out of that equation and Antonio Brown was lost to injury early in Pittsburgh’s loss to the Patriots. It is really tough to back Russell Wilson after his Seahawks were
embarrassed by Gurley’s Rams. Tom Brady of course is still in the equation and in reality, is probably still in the lead for the honor, but Gurley should be nipping on his heels after racking up 152 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He had 158 all-purpose yards in the first half, putting the game immediately out of reach and clearly he could have cranked up far more
statistically.

Gurley has been fantastic all season, but on Sunday in Seattle, he was just amazing and took control. Clearly Gurley’s supporting cast and offensive system is vastly improved from his disappointing 2016 campaign, but Gurley has really stepped up his play as a receiver as well. As a runner, Gurley once again showed that he handles the short yardage situations as well as being able to hit the home run on any given play. He does it all now. He has power, size and great fluidity for a player with his long speed and change of direction skills.

Speaking of awards, Aaron Donald made an extremely strong case for Defensive MVP as unblockable force in this contest and the Rams’ special teams were truly special. Sean McVay might be Coach of the Year as well in his first season with the Rams.
