Josh Allen

Quarterback, Wyoming

Heading into the 2017 NFL season, the Arizona Cardinals had to like their chances of challenging in the NFC West. Veterans Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald both signed on for another year, and they had arguably the best running back in the NFC returning in David Johnson. Well, Johnson and Palmer both saw their seasons end with an injury, and the Cardinals find themselves near the bottom of the division with two weeks left in the year.

Due to all the losses, the Cardinals actually are picking towards the top of the first round next April, and they may want to nab one of these quarterback prospects with the selection. Josh Allen might have the most raw talent of any quarterback in this draft class, but he is hard to rate based on the fact he played for Wyoming. Allen played behind a bad offensive line, and did not have many weapons, so I bet he cannot wait to get to the NFL and play with some of the playmakers at the next level.

Allen has the arm to make all the throws at the next level, and he has the body you want in a franchise quarterback. It is going to be interesting to see how he does at the combine, as the likelihood is that he will not be playing in the Senior Bowl. He is definitely going to be a first round pick, but the real question is whether a team is going to take a chance on someone who was not too prolific at the collegiate level.
