2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns, Giants nab QBs
By Brad Weiss
The Jacksonville Jaguars roared to a 10-4 record on Sunday, as they absolutely dominated the Houston Texans. The Jaguars spent the last two offseasons bolstering their defense, and boy has that paid off this season. Calais Campbell is one of the best pass rushers in all of football, and the addition of a run game on the offensive side of the ball has turned the Jaguars into a power in the AFC.
The only real issue on this team has been the play of the quarterback, which has been inconsistent at best. In recent weeks, Blake Bortles has done a tremendous job under center, but it is really hard to imagine this franchise locking into him long-term. Tom Coughlin and company will likely draft a quarterback next April, and a player like Lamar Jackson could be available this late in round one.
A year after winning the Heisman Trophy, Jackson was a finalist, so there is no doubting what he has been able to do on the field during his college days. However, there are people out there who do not figure it will translate to the NFL game, and I am not one of them. He is going to be an exciting player at the next level, and we have already seen how a good, young quarterback can come into this league and turn a franchise around right away.
