2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns, Giants nab QBs
By Brad Weiss
The Pittsburgh Steelers lost a heartbreaker this past Sunday, as a strange catch rule essentially robbed them of a victory over the New England Patriots. The game was for control of the top seed in the AFC, and now the road to the Super Bowl will likely have to go through Foxboro. The Steelers have the talent to beat the Patriots, even if it is on the road, but you have to think they have some kind of mental block against the Pats at this point.
Even without home field, this Steelers team is going to go far in the playoffs, but that all hinges on whether or not Antonio Brown is ready to go. Brown was injured during the game against the Pats, and it is a lower leg injury. Still, the Steelers will be picking towards the bottom of the first round come next April, and they should look to bolster their defense with the pick.
Not many teams can compare with the Steelers on offense, so adding to the defense is definitely the way to go. The team has been beaten in the secondary on too many occasions this season, and may want to bring in a player like Florida State’s Tarvarus McFadden to bolster the defensive backfield. McFadden is one of the more versatile defensive backs in all of college football, and this Steelers defense is only getting young, and better at this point.
