Shout out to everyone who doesn’t celebrate and/or doesn’t like Christmas, Grubhub has your back.

While the Christmas holiday season, marked by such illustrious pagan signs as decorated trees and glittering lights as well as meteorological markings like snow, is more or less secular at this point, Christmas Day itself and Christmas Eve the night before remain tied to Christianity. Which is to say, most families celebrating with a big ol’ roast dinner and a thousand sides grew up with Christian tradition. Which is to say there are a heck of a lot of people who don’t celebrate Christmas with a Christmas dinner.

Those people may be looking to order Grubhub — or Seamless, or UberEATS — on Christmas, and lucky for them, food delivery services are decidedly in business. (And let’s not forget the folks with big Christmas dinners looking to order something easy on Christmas Eve in preparation of a whole day of cooking.)

The rule of thumb with delivery services like Grubhub and its ilk is that they’re always open and your delivery options depend on whether or not the restaurant you want to order from is open. Typically, Chinese food places stay open on Christmas and Christmas Eve. (In 2014, Grubhub released numbers saying that the bump is real. Vietnamese food is also, apparently, quite popular on Dec. 24 and 25.)

With the end of the year approaching, Grubhub has also released a Year in Delivery report, showing the most-ordered dishes in America. Per WTOP:

"1.    Poke — 643% rise in popularity over 20162.    Soft pretzels — 221% rise in popularity3.    Avocado toast — 212% rise in popularity4.    Chips and queso — 163% rise in popularity5.    Acai bowl — 138% rise in popularity6.    Chicken fried steak — 130% rise in popularity7.    Bean and cheese burrito — 127% rise in popularity8.    Italian sandwich — 125% rise in popularity9.    Chicken dum biryani — 123% rise in popularity10.    Mini corn dogs — 109% rise in popularity11.    California cobb salad – 108% rise in popularity12.    Snow crab legs — 106% rise in popularity13.    Country fried steak — 104% rise in popularity14.    Sirloin steak — 94% rise in popularity15.    Lasagna bolognese — 89% rise in popularity"

So perhaps Chinese won’t top the order list on Dec. 25, but it’s good to know whatever you’re craving — poke, soft pretzels, chips and queso — you more likely than not can order it for delivery on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Grubhub is doing everything in its power to help you.
