DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – December 26, 2017
High-Value PG
Tyler Johnson, MIA vs ORL ($5,700): Johnson has been great for Miami since being inserted into the starting lineup four games ago. He’s been above value in all four games and now enters a matchup with the sliding Magic. Orlando ranks last against the position in their last 15 games and are now without the services of Nikola Vucevic. Most of Johnson’s value comes from his ability to score as he’s been inconsistent with his rebound and assist numbers. He does make a handful of defensive plays, which helps his value. With Dion Waiters out, Johnson’s usage will continue to increase. ****
George Hill, SAC at LAC ($4,600): No De’Aaron Fox means more George Hill. Hill barely missed value against the Spurs, but the Clippers defense is nothing close to what San Antonio brings. Hill needs just 20.4 fantasy points to hit value, which should be easy for him given that he’ll play 30+ minutes and run the Kings offense. He’s a good scorer who can get hot from deep. His rebounding and assist numbers are up-and-down. Hill is a relatively low-cost option that should be well over value on Tuesday given his usage and match-up. *****
J.J. Barea, DAL vs TOR ($4,600): Barea had a season-high 43 fantasy points against Atlanta on Saturday. He’s unlikely to match that against arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference, but few players have been as reliable as Barea. He’s hit value in 82 percent of games this season. The Raptors are ninth against the position in their last 15 games, but Barea is as consistent as they come off the Dallas bench. He’s a big contributor in the points and assists category who can produce a handful of rebounds and defensive plays. ***
